Apostolic Welcome

The First Pentecostal Church of Torrington
welcomes you.
The MissionDoctrinal Statement

The Mission

of the church of the book of Acts
is our Mission!

To preach and teach Christ crucified, risen and coming again.

It is our desire to be Christ-centered, Bible believing, and evangelistic. Our greatest desire is to restore the church of the Bible.

More than 2,000 years ago, Christ said, “Upon this rock [Petras – Massive Rock], I will build my church.” One church. We are making a sincere effort to recapture the spirit of that one church by accepting the Bible as our only guide. We claim no creed but Jesus Christ, and wear no name, but “saints.” We are a part of the body of Christ only. We are one in Him as He is one in us.
John 17:9-26

Doctrinal Statement
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

We believe in the one God who is infinite in power, and Holy in nature, attributes and purpose. He was revealed to us as Father in Creation, Son in Redemption, and as Holy Ghost energizing the church.

We believe that in Jesus dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleases the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell.

We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus. He was born both human and divine; He was God manifested in the flesh.

We believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and that He ascended on high and has sent His Spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out in Jerusalem over 2,000 years ago, and is the same Spirit that fills hearts today.

We believe in baptism in water by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ
(Acts 2:38) for the remission of sins, and in the baptism of the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:4)

We believe in a holy, sanctified life, divine healing, communion, foot washing and the glorious return of Jesus (Rapture) to catch away His church to live with Him throughout eternity.
